YOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: ARRIVAL IN NOUAKCHOTT
Arrive in Nouakchott at your convenience where you will have our transfer service waiting to take you to the hotel.
In the afternoon, you'll venture to the huge camel market and explore a bit of the city.
Visit to Port de Pêche - the largest and most vibrant fish market in the capital.
Visit the Great Mosque of Nouakchott.
Enjoy dinner and stay overnight in Nouakchott.
Day 2: NOUAKCHOTT - AZOUEIGA
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at our hotel and prepare for a journey full of adventure and wonder. Head to the prestigious National Museum, where you can explore artefacts that tell the fascinating story of Mauritania and its ancient cities. Here, you will dive into a world of knowledge, feeling safe as you learn more about the past of this rich and diverse region.
In the afternoon, embark on a 4-hour trip to the stunning Azoueiga sand dune. Here, we will set up camp in this incredibly peaceful setting, providing you with a feeling of tranquility and security.
Under the immensity of the sky, you will have the opportunity to climb the nearby sand dune in time to watch the sunset, a truly unforgettable experience. After an exciting outdoor adventure, enjoy a comforting dinner and spend the night camped under the stars, feeling protected by the nature that surrounds you.
Day 3: AZOUEIGA - TERJIT - CHINGUETTI
Departure towards Terjit, considered by many to be the most naturally beautiful place in Mauritania. It is an oasis in the middle of the Sahara desert. After a long journey, relax in the pools and cool off in this desert paradise.
Continue our off-road adventure towards the UNESCO World Heritage site of Chinguetti - one of Islam's holy cities. You will visit the library and other historical monuments, including the beloved Chinguetti Mosque, the national symbol of Mauritania.
Enjoy the sunset, watched from the huge sand dunes that surround Chinguetti. After a day full of exploration, enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in our guest house, feeling safe and comfortable.
Day 4: CHINGUETTI - OUADANE
Enjoy a delicious breakfast in our guest house and prepare yourself for a unique and exciting journey that will take you to extraordinary places. Start the 80km journey through nothing more than desert and sand dunes, stopping at the village of Tanounichert to enjoy tea with the locals along the way.
In the afternoon, arrive at the protected World Heritage Site of Ouadane and explore the streets that once glorified this beautiful country as a whole. Get up close to the Richat Structure, also known as the "Eye of the Sahara" - a huge circular geological feature 40km in diameter, visible from space.
Enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night at our hotel, immersed in the unique atmosphere of this place. This is a trip that will take you to unforgettable experiences and moments that will be etched in your memory forever.

Day 5: OUADANE - CHOUM
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel and prepare yourself for a truly exciting adventure that will take you to unique and unforgettable places. It leaves towards Choum - the starting point for the iron ore train. Along the way, make a stop at Agrour - your chance to see prehistoric paintings left here 5000 years ago!
Visit the Mheirith Oasis - an incredibly picturesque place where Mauritanians like to come and relax during the date growing season.
In the afternoon, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and prepare for your adventure aboard Mauritania's famous Iron Ore Train. Make a stop at local stores to ensure the group is stocked with all the essentials they need.
Board the world-famous Mauritanian Iron Ore Train - at over 2km long, this is the longest and heaviest train in the world. Make sure you bring a warm blanket, warm clothes and a scarf to protect you from the dust. The train will depart between 6pm and 10pm.
Spend the night on top of the iron ore, in an open train carriage, experiencing a truly unique and memorable experience.
Day 6: NOUADHIBOU
After arriving in the city of Nouadhibou, we head directly to our hotel, where a well-deserved rest and a refreshing shower awaits you!
After your well-deserved rest, we head to Cape Blanc - a peninsula shared between Mauritania and Morocco, where you can visit the beach and the seal colony.
Enjoy dinner in a family Spanish restaurant. Spend the night at our hotel, where you can recharge your batteries for your next adventures.
Day 7: NOUAKCHOTT
You wake up early for the last breakfast of this unforgettable trip and begin the long journey back to the capital of Mauritania, Nouakchott. As the car travels down the road, you can't help but feel a mix of emotions. You remember the stunning landscapes you witnessed, the friendships you made and the stories you shared. Each stop along the way is an opportunity to reflect on the moments lived and absorb the magnitude of the experience you are about to complete.
When you stop for lunch, you look around and realize how this journey has changed your perspective. You visit the Zein Art Gallery and you are reminded of the vibrant colors and immersive sounds that characterized every moment of this adventure. As you choose souvenirs to take with you, you know that each object will be more than a souvenir - it will be a portal to relive the memories that now intertwine in your mind.
Arriving in Nouakchott, you prepare for the last night of this trip. In the silence of the night, you relive every moment, from the first rays of sunlight to the sunset on the golden dunes. After breakfast, our transfer will take you to the airport to return home.
